A national feature highlighting Horizon operational discipline, innovation, and mission-driven reinvestment.
Horizon Pharmacy is proud to share that President and CEO Jason Dana Costa is featured on the cover of RXInsider’s 20Ways Fall 2026 Retail/Community, Specialty, and Long-Term Care edition.
For Horizon, this recognition is about more than a magazine cover. It reflects the organization’s broader commitment to disciplined operations, practical innovation, and mission-centered pharmacy leadership. As a closed-door long-term care pharmacy owned by three nonprofit community behavioral health organizations, Horizon’s performance has a direct connection to the people and communities its owners serve.
The article titled, “How Horizon Pharmacy Cut Costs, Doubled Profits and Freed Up Capital to Give Back,” tells the story of Horizon’s move from manual, time-consuming purchasing processes to a more data-driven model using the SureCost platform. By improving visibility across vendors, strengthening contract compliance, and better managing inventory, Horizon was able to reduce its cost of goods sold, improve cash flow, and double profits without increasing the inventory it carries.
Those gains have helped Horizon reinvest in technology and service improvements, including a pouch packing system and an AI robot to support workflow and reduce data-entry errors.
Jason’s Fall 2026 cover feature also builds on his prior RXInsider thought-leadership article, “Medication, Access, & Hope,” which examined the role long-term care pharmacies can play in supporting Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics, medication adherence, and coordinated behavioral health care. Together, the articles reflect Horizon Pharmacy’s continued commitment to sustainable pharmacy operations, practical innovation, and community impact.
Horizon extends its appreciation to RXInsider and SureCost for helping share this story nationally, and to the Horizon Pharmacy team whose day-to-day work makes this progress possible.
